Here at the Dorothy S. Wright Foundation, we strive to release families from the financial burdens of planning a loved one’s funeral. Our goal is to make sure each individual has the support one needs to get through these difficult times.

What We Do

Whether you need a listening ear, financial assistance for your family member’s funeral, or insurance coverage for your loved ones, we welcome you to approach our organization.

We will help you with what you need, approaching and negotiating with funeral homes within the region that can provide their services at lower costs. Our goal is to help you cover the costs of urns and burial services with the help of our generous donors.

Our Founding Story

January 31st of 2016 is the date of a life-changing scenario for our founder. You see, on this day, she experienced the loss of her mother and two kids in a tragic car accident.

Our founder’s loved ones were simply headed to church when all of a sudden their vehicle is side-swept by a Chevy Suburban that was being chased by the police. None of her family survived.

Our founder had to endure the painful reality that she had to plan a proper funeral for her beloved family, all while she was still suffering from the shock and grief of all that has happened.

Support During Difficult Times

Her experience drove her to establish the nonprofit we run today. We run our organization with the goal of assisting and supporting parents, families, and guardians facing the same pain.

Today, we offer accessible funeral assistance services as well as financial funding to those who need it the most.

To support and comfort families in their darkest hour of loss of their adolescent children and provide resources, assistance, and awareness to the community.
